The Power of Words and Personal Choice

A Personal Foreword and Small Introduction

The power of words and personal choice enables us to direct our lives and live in flow. When we are aligned and assume responsibility for our actions, alternative realities and versions of ourselves have the potential to emerge.

What words we use, when and where, MATTERS. What I write and how I phrase myself in this introduction to The Transformational Power of Language will determine who gets involved and who drops off.

Every word has its distinct role and specific part in creating the whole. Each word a stepping stone. Every sentence leading into the next.

For those who resonate, the words will ignite a spark of curiosity. And for those who are not aligned, just one word too many or one sentence too much will be the final drop which makes the water run over the cup.

If that is you. Thank you for being with us until here. Now enjoy your day. Because you have more important things to do 😊

Sacred Equilibrium: The Divine Balance between “Not too little” and “Not too much”

Finding the Equilibrium in all things – in this case in the writing – is a precise art. And the only way to learn is by doing. Through practice. By trying, falling, rising, and adapting. By writing, reading, thinking, and listening. By receiving and being open to feedback in all of its forms. Spoken and unspoken. Conscious and unconscious. Written in bold or whispered in between the lines.

I give a lot of my time and energy into these writings. I write and reread. I revisit again and take away and redo. I research the definitions of words and then I change this one for that. I move sentences around and then return them again. I analyse and evaluate. I copy and paste and think and contemplate.

Daily. Continuously. Revisiting, refining, adjusting, and designing.

This is one of my amazing qualities, part of who I am and a superpower in itself. However, when overbalanced, it may tun into an obsessiveness that has me stuck in a rut and blocks the flow of creation.

And many times I ask myself,  “Is this really necessary?” or “Am I wasting too much of my time?”

Because I find myself spending A LOT of time on these writings. And on some of them, WAY TOO MUCH. I don’t mind spending the time, the issue I have is that it comes at the cost of other important pieces of the whole.

I seem to have a tendency to misdirect my focus on unnecessary things to the cost of what is necessary. Doing and giving a lot with little to show for it.

And with that I waste my potential to create concrete and complete content and contribute. Adding value and playing my part more fully.

For this I am sorry and do my best to balance the scales. To centre myself, my qualities and skills, and to find the equilibrium between energy output and input.

FAITH in what I do not see and TRUST in the capacity of me

Though on the other hand, I also know that a lot of the steps is not being seen by my human eyes. I know that there are deeper levels of my work and unseen results of my efforts.

Remembering once again the iceberg of which we see only the 10% that is above. The remaining 90% which sustains the whole silently rests below. The same with the tree, we look and think we know, and yet it is tremendous what we do not see.

These images brings me a sense of peace and faith. And even though I often feel that I advance way too slow and have little to show for my efforts, at least I am consistently advancing. At least I am steadily moving forward towards “something”.

And this inner knowing that things are happening beyond my current understanding. That pieces are moving beneath my current sight. Together with my intention to be consistent and do my best, brings me direction to go on and continuously learn and grow. To evolve and be in equilibrious flow with the divine design of life.

The Power of Choice

In short, “this work takes a lot of me” so to speak. And immediately – speaking about the power language – as I place my thoughts into writing – I am able to see how they are phrased and what energy they contain.

With this awareness I choose to rephrase how and what I say. Based on my intentions and what I currently know, I deliberately change the way I speak. And instead I affirm that “I give a lot of myself to this”.

BECAUSE I DO CHOOSE TO. And the intention here is to place attention on what words we use in order to consciously choose phrases that serves our overall health, wealth, and desired outcomes in life.

This is one of the various benefits of journaling. The reflections and increased self-awareness we receive when we place our inner dialogue onto paper. As we make thoughts into words we are able to see them in the light and view both them and ourselves differently.

And so, by paying attention to our thoughts we become aware of them. From there, of recognizing what is, we may question, feel, and contemplate. This distance between ourselves and our thoughts expands our consciousness and allows us to see new perspectives.

Throughout this process we are continuously learning the effects our inner dialogue and way of thinking have on our emotional and physical state of being – which is always intrinsically connected.

And with this awareness and a curious mindset we will expand our ability to consciously choose HOW we speak and WHAT we say dependent on what we want for ourselves and our world.

And finally, from this space of personal responsibility we have the power to choose and make a real change. In our own lives and families as well as the world at large.

Empowered or Enslaved – The Choice is Ours

There is a clear energetic distinction between the two phrases above. When I claim that something “takes from me” I declare myself as a victim and that my decisions and actions is out of my control. I create an inner dissonance by asserting that I sacrifice myself for something outside of me to the cost of me.

The phrase is in the same energetic frequency span as “I have to”, “I must”, “I need to”, and “I should”, which are all versions of placing power and responsibility on the outside.

On the other hand, when I make the precise distinction of acknowledging that “I CHOOSE to GIVE” myself – i.e. my time and energy – to something, the whole concept shifts. Now I live my life from conscious choice and free will. The energetic flow aligns and there is a sense of empowerment.

Because now I am affirming that it is Within my Power and My Personal Choice. I am assuming personal responsibility for my life and reality. I am a free man, not a slave. I am not a victim to circumstance but a conscious co-creator of my life. Because I choose to.

This is The Power of Choice.

In the deep end and on some level. Consciously or unconsciously. It is always our choice and we always have the last say. The best we can do is to admit it and take responsibility for our lives.

I HAVE TO walk my dog every morning and evening because it is REQUIRED of me because he NEEDS to move”. (“But silently I rather sleep in and not being dragged out into the mud – i.e. I am internally resisting my external action.”)

… has a very different energetic charge than:

I CHOOSE to walk my dog every day because I LOVE her and I know it makes her (and me) feel better. And when she is happy I am happy and also it is my responsibility and part of the blessing of having her in my life.”

The action will be the same. The critical difference is from what space within ourselves we live the experience. With willingness and love or resistance and conflict?

Because Stop Fooling Yourself. Nobody is forcing you to do anything except yourself. May it be conscious, subconscious, or unconscious. I don’t know. But you, me, and each one of us are the ones who chooses.

Our choice might be based on how we want to be seen and the basic need of acceptance and inclusion. It may connected to fear of being judged or some other idea of why we need or should do something or act in a certain way. But in the end it comes down to each and every one of us. We choose. We might not be conscious of why and how but when we are willing to see we will become aware of the fact.

Personal Choice and Assuming responsibility for my Life – Tying it together

And so. Returning to the point of working and sharing these very words. I don’t have to do this, that, or anything. I don’t have to sit down each day and write all these words.

But I am sitting here, sharing my current truth with all of my flaws to the best of my ability. Because I chose to. Because I have the power to choose.

And from this recognition there is a willingness to do the work. And by writing it down and sharing it I  reaffirm it. And as I read it I remember it again.

Continuously nourishing this quality, attitude and direction within myself. And the more I remember it the more I practice it and as such I embody it.

The power of life and personal choice aligns when I am aligned. When I am being consistent with my actions and coherent with my intentions, heart and mind.

This personal examples of mine is of course, as is all things, a metaphor for life and any situation wemay find ourselves in. And the fundamental message is to recognize that YOU, Me, and ALL of us have the personal POWER to CHOOSE.

We are all the Captain of our own ship. We can receive guidance, follow directions, and even place someone else behind the rudder. But let’s be honest. We are still the responsible. We are the one in charge. If we admit it or not.

CLOSING and CONCLUSION

The HOW is the CLUE – The WHY is the CAUSE

Throughout our lives we will find ourselves between a rock and a hard place. Things might seem tough and rough but there is always choice. There are always more than one route to take. In WHAT choice to make and action to take, and more importantly, from WHERE within ourselves.

HOW we live and lead our lives, which stems from a deeper WHY, are the factors that defines and guides our reality.”

From our cultural conditioning and limiting beliefs it may seem like we do not have choice. Because we believe that we should, must, or need to. Which is based on social norms of what is accepted or frowned upon. But when we allow ourselves to raise our sight above and beyond, new perspectives and novel solutions suddenly arise.

When we dare to assume responsibility for our lives. Recognizing that our decisions, actions, words, and lives are ours to steer and direct. Then new realities and alternative versions of ourselves may emerge and come to be.

The main point being that it is not about WHAT we do (the action itself) but HOW and WHY we I do it. From what energetic place and space within ourselves.

The narrative of our inner dialogue may bring us into alignment with or in conflict against our actions.

It is always within our grasp to choose what way to go and with what attitude we approach life and challenges. We can chose to live with willingness and generosity. In love and harmony. Or we can struggle through life in a constant battle in a state of resistance.

From my personal account I can honestly say that some of the inner conflict still remains. But steadily and deliberately I am making peace within myself and learning to align with life. And a grand part of that work is to remind myself and expand my awareness through the practice of writing and sharing this inner work here.

Every day I remember because every day I remind myself. Every day the house is built. Every day the temple is cleaned. Each day I affirm myself.

Consistency is Key and Faith Guides me Forth

And as such that I have faith that these words will reach whoever they are meant to reach. Whoever seeks and is open to receive they will meet. And if you are reading these words, they are for you. And I invite you to be open and read between the lines. In this way you may receive what is specifically for you. Because we are all unique.

Remembering that “Everything a Metaphor for Everything Else”.

And I trust that as I keep my faith and continue my path with conviction and devotion, the consistency of my actions will connect the dots and reveal a greater story.

And this grander piece will come to life, not by sporadic whims of writing in the sunshine, but by sitting down each day with faith, dedication, direction and devotion.

“With Consistency and Faith God shows the Way and Time Will Tell.”
