What is Prioritization? What does it mean to prioritize?
The Word Priority comes from the word Prior meaning «former» or «before” –> “what comes before” something else.
Oxford & Cambridge dictionaries:

- Prioritize (verb): determining the order for dealing with a series of items or tasks according to their relative importance.
i.e. To rank actions in order of importance: What is most important Now?

- Prioritization (noun) being the action or process of deciding the relative importance or urgency of a thing or things.

- The thing, fact or condition of being regarded and treated as more important than others. 2. The right to proceed before others, i.e. Priority boarding.

- The quality or state of coming before another in time or importance. 2. : a condition of being given attention before others. i.e. “this project has top priority”.

- If something is a priority, it is the most important thing you have to achieve or deal with before everything else. A priority is the concern, interest or desire that comes before all others.
Clarification of concepts relating to Prioritization:
Importance: What matters most –> i.e. What do I most want to see materialize?
Relative: Considered in relation or in proportion to something else.
Relative importance:
“Relative importance refers to the significance of a variable or factor in relation to others within a specific context, often in decision-making, analysis, or evaluation. It helps to determine how much influence each factor has on an (desired) outcome compared to other factors.”
Importance then, defined and clarified in relation to another thing, is comparing and weighing value and impact against another thing.
