Attention is allocation of energy — and energy is the source of all life.
Attention is gold — the true currency of our time — and how we spend it determines the wealth of our lives.
The Passage of Time
As I persistently focus on red, unknowingly, in a moment,
I forget about blue.
Fading into pale, it transforms into grey.
I try to remember, but it doesn’t make sense.
The blues once so strong, now no longer in my arms.
What happened to that tune?
Like a bird it flew away,
what a sudden surprise,
I thought it forever would remain.
Urgently,
pressingly,
convincingly.
I gave it my time.
It demanded my attention,
my effort, my hand.
And freely without knowing,
I gave it away.
Like a storm it raged,
echoed screams,
stay with me,
stay with me,
or turn into ash.
Will this ever end?
I was thinking to myself.
A monsoon that never stops,
is all I’ve ever known.
Frustration to despair,
A silent scream released,
I lay down on my knees,
praying to the trees.
Asking God above,
praying to the stars.
And then — point blank — it stops.
An outlet has been reached.
Like the weather never was,
everything is calm.
A breeze caresses my neck,
emotions are set free,
tears fall down my cheek,
tension is released.
The sun once more then shines,
black clouds have gone to sleep.
The symphony arrives.
The rustle of the leaves.

Aligning with the Cycles of Life
Honoring ourselves by aligning with the times is essential for our well-being and the natural course of our lives to unfold.
Seasons come and go. Cycles repeat, and we are advised to surrender to the flow of life. We must let go because we are not only part of nature, we are from it, we are it.
As manifestations of the light divine, we all derive from the core source as all things do—And removing ourselves from the grand orchestration of life serves absolutely no one.
Why did we do it then? Why have we misplaced ourselves?
Well, we haven’t. We are exactly where we are meant to be. It is simply a matter of waking up to the fact. This is another of life’s extraordinary paradoxes that we are invited to learn.
Life is the Great School.
Circumstance is the classroom that sets the framework of our experience, and our challenges are the curriculum.
Every moment is a lesson, each encounter an invitation to be attentive.
Through experience are we formed — through difficulty refined, through loss humbled, and through love uplifted and rebuilt.
Nothing arrives without purpose, and no moment is empty of grace. Every drop of experience shapes us into who we are becoming.
We can run from our responsibilities, but destiny will follow until we surrender to our calling. We can skip class, but we will never graduate until we follow through on what is required of us.
And in the acceptance of what is, we continue to ask ourselves:
“Does this serve me and my life?” and “How does this serve?”
What is the message hidden within?
We ask, we listen, we feel, we give in…
The wind of change brings peace, and as we are in harmony with life, we are truly free.
Free to be ourselves.
Free to dance and pray.
Free to rest and yawn.
Free to work and serve.
Free to share our hearts.
Free to play our part —
along with the great privilege to discover what that is.
And so here we are guided to place our attention, to invest our interest, to pay our respect: in ourselves and in what truly serves us here and now.
